Crystal Cummings

For decades, Crystal Cummings has been a driving force in improving the lives of Indigenous communities across Canada. A member of the Curve Lake First Nation, Crystal has dedicated her career to program and project management in the health and social services sector. Her work has focused on delivering effective and culturally-sensitive programming that meets the needs of Indigenous communities. Crystal was responsible for monitoring and administering service delivery agreements for seven programs with funding totaling more than 5 million dollars annually. She also played a key role in developing program guidelines and resources materials, including database templates and proposal forms. In addition to her technical expertise, Crystal is also an outstanding leader and communicator. She is highly skilled at orienting staff to new programs, providing coaching and support when needed, and facilitating communication between different stakeholders. Crystal’s most recent experience included planning, preparing and promoting conferences and training including sourcing location and applicable presenters & trainers, contracting with venue and services, arranging flights, meals, transportation and all follow-up including financial aspects (budget preparation, reimbursement, payments, receivables, and all final reporting.)

Nathaniel Cummings

Nathaniel is an experienced project manager and report writer, with a particular focus on tourism and First Nations consultation. He has worked extensively with the Curve Lake First Nation community, liaising between government agencies, private businesses and the community itself. He is highly proficient in office software, including Access and PowerPoint, as well as in coding languages Python, GDScript and Java. He is also conversant in Anishinaabemowin and has developed language-based games and spreadsheets to aid in language development. Most recently, Nat has worked as a Tourism Development Officer for the Curve Lake First Nation, where he was responsible for developing and coordinating community events, compiling and maintaining a community tourism asset list, and applying for funding to support growth in the local tourism industry. Nat is an excellent writer with extensive experience preparing reports for different audiences. He also has experience working with government agencies on consultation related to land management/resources and First Nation inherent title and rights, and treaty rights and title.
